Missions and Outreach

Our Work in the Mission Field

As we focus upon missionary work, the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20 is directing us. May the Lord’s light shine through us to the people we contact. Personal and corporate evangelism is to be part of each believer’s life in response to the Gospel.

In addition to individual evangelism, the congregaton of Lamb of God Lutheran Church has chosen to focus collectively on two areas for mission work:

  • Haiti (foreign mission)
  • Zion Lutheran School of Snohomish County (local mission)

By supporting these missions both spiritually and financially, Lamb of God Lutheran Church helps strengthen the evangelism effort in these areas. May the Lord strengthen us as we support our foreign and local missions through prayer, time and resources.

Our Haiti Mission

Members of Lamb of God Lutheran Church, working together with Reverend Daniel Paul and his congregation in Haiti, have helped to build an orphanage in Ouanaminthe, located on the northeast part of the island near the border of the Dominican Republic. During the summers of 2003, 2005 and 2007 the Lamb of God mission team traveled to Haiti to help construct the orphanage and lead children in vacation bible school. The orphanage for the boys was completed in October 2012. During the summer of 2013, five members of Lamb of God and seven members of Faith, La Grande, traveled to Ouanaminthe to begin construction of a security wall for the new school across from the Boys Orphanage as well as lead vacation bible school.

Our Mission to Zion Lutheran School

In 2001 Lamb of God Church joined with four area Missouri Synod Lutheran churches to support Zion Lutheran School both financially and spiritually. As a member of the Lutheran School Association of Snohomish County, Lamb of God provides an active on-site chaplain ministry to Zion students ranging in age from preschool through eighth grade. Our members also provide a scholarship fund to help church families defray tuition costs. For more information about Zion Lutheran School, click the link on the left sidebar.

Our Local Outreach Ministries

At Lamb of God our church members and staff continually strive to bring God’s word to our community. We fulfill that need in a variety of places.

Lord’s Little Cooker

Each Saturday, members of our church visit the Lord’s Little Cooker in Everett to serve food, bring clothing and blankets, and share the word of God. Once a month, on the 3rd Saturday, our youth also participate in this outreach ministry.

Lake Stevens Schools

Our youth and worship leader, Jan Novak, regularly visits our local Lake Stevens schools and ministers to them in a variety of ways. He is active in their sports programs, helping coach baseball and basketball. He visits with students during their lunch break, giving them a positive role model they can rely on and look up to. He builds relationships with the students there.

Aquafest is a fun family carnival that takes place in downtown Lake Stevens each July. Lamb of God runs a food booth at Aquafest selling homemade ice cream sandwiches. During this time we share information about our upcoming Vacation Bible Camp, about our local mission Zion Lutheran School, and about our foreign mission at Lambs of God orphanage in Haiti.

Vacation Bible Camp

Each August Lamb of God runs a vacation bible camp for kids ages preschool through 6th grade. This is a fun time of food, games, Bible stories and learning about our Savior Jesus Christ. There is no need to be a member of our church for your children to join us. We would love to see you!
